Marilyn Monroe

$275

16" x 20"
Acrylic on Canvas

Description: One of the most photographed women in history, and yet, of all the images captured of her in jaw-dropping poses wearing remarkably stunning clothing – this one of her in a simple turtleneck sweater is my favourite. It reminds me that despite the glitz and glam of Hollywood, those we prop up to celebrity status are still just simple humans like the rest of us.

Taylor Swift

SOLD

14" x 14"
Acrylic on Cradled Wood

Description: This acrylic painting was created on cradled wood. I left the edges unpainted, allowing the varnish to pull out the grain of the wood, and eliminating the need to get this piece framed. It comes ready to hang, with hardware attached.

Inner Reflection

$430

Acrylic on Canvas

“Inner Reflection” symbolizes the journey of healing and self-discovery, where introspection and self-care pave the way towards reclaiming one’s worth and identity.

Johnny Depp

$500

18" x 24" Acrylic on Canvas

Description: This portrait of Johnny Depp playing guitar was painted as he and his ex-wife endured the challenges of having their lives exposed to the public in ways that they likely never wanted. I chose to paint him with his guitar because it was due to the trial that I discovered his band, the Hollywood Vampires. I listened to their music quite a lot while I painted and spent a lot of time considering our humanity. Even those with fame and fortune are vulnerable to making poor choices. And I believe that, in turn, we’re all equally deserving of redemption.

Joni Mitchell

$300

20" x 16"
Acrylic on Canvas

Description: A new twist on an iconic image of the one and only Joni Mitchell.

Amy Winehouse

$145

12" x 12"
Acrylic on Canvas

Description: This portrait of Amy Winehouse captures her soulful essence. Her signature beehive look is rendered in her signature style using bold pink against a polka dotted background. As someone who has struggled with mental health issues similar to Amy’s, I feel a special connection to her music. This painting is my tribute to a talented artist who left an indelible mark on the world, reminding us that it’s impossible to know what a person is struggling with just by observing them from afar.

Artist Statement

I’m a spunky Canadian artist who discovered my love for painting later in life. It wasn’t until 46 that I realized I had a talent for creating honest works that explore how much of our thoughts are not our own.

But it’s not just the themes that set me apart. With my unique style of portraiture, I force you to see people as they really are. Using a singular hue, I capture the physical features of my subject, and allow the viewer to experience the person just as they are – without the influence of their own judgements.

It’s this ability to connect the viewer to the art that makes people fall in love with my work. Whether I’m creating another portrait of Gord Downie, or delving into my own life’s experiences, my work is always thought-provoking and emotionally charged.

When I’m not busy painting, you can find me making funny videos about my Inner Critic on Instagram, proving that it’s never too late to make a difference in the world.

So if you’re looking for an artist who’s as vulnerable as their artwork, who proves that age is just a number, and who forces us to see people in a new light, look no further.
